Societies Tutorial Societies are miniature communities within Misticpets. They are for all members and come with several uses. To get there, click 'Societies' in the left navigation or click here. Once there, you'll see a welcome and an image that says 'Join a Society' (this image is not clickable and will not let you join a society). Other links are below the text and image. Listing all Societies To view all societies, click the link underneath the image. They are listed alphabetically. You'll first see the name of the society and then the owner of the society. You can click the name to view the society, which will show you its name, its logo, its description, and stats. Society Invitations Invitations are not sent to you through your mail, and you won't be notified. If you are not in a society, you'll want to periodically visit the 'Society Invitations' link below the societies page description and image. Whenever an invitation comes up, you can accept it or reject it. It will tell you who it's from and for which society. If you accept an invitation, you can go back to the societies main page and you'll see 'Enter your Society'. Click this and you'll be taken to the society you just joined. You'll have the options to donate to your society, to post on the society board, and to view all of the members. If you ever want to leave, click the 'Leave Society' option on the society's page. Starting a Society Creating a society is easy! Click the 'Start a Society' link and you'll be taken to this page. In the text boxes you can put in the name of your society and type out its description. The ranks are for your members and their abilities. Put whatever you want to call them in those text boxes. Last, you have a picture. You can click the browse button and select an image on your computer for your society logo. Make sure not to use a link from the internet, but instead the browse button! When you have it all filled out, simply click 'Create' and you're done! Head back to the societies main page and you'll have a new link, 'Enter your Society'. Click it and you'll see that the description you entered did not stick! Instead it says, "We are a new!" To fix this, click 'Society Admin'. Then click the first link, 'Ranks / Frontpage'. Here you can change your description, and also the names of your ranks. The largest text box is, actually, your description. The next text box says description next to it, but it is actually sort of your catch phrase, which will be shown right underneath the name of your society when it is viewed. You have other options on the society admin page. If you go to 'Picture' you can change your society's logo, the same way you did when you first created the society. Any new image will overwrite the old. If you go to 'Send an Invitation' you can type in someone's username and then click 'Send Invitation', and voila! you've invited someone to join your society. Then, at the bottom, you have the option to delete your society, which will take you to a page where you must type 'Please delete my Society' in the text box for it to go through when you've clicked 'Permanently Delete Club'. Your last option is to manage your members. Click the 'Manage Members' link and you'll be taken to a drop down. Select a member from it, and you'll be taken to a new page. From here you can change the member's rank, or boot them! Deciding to leave the society you are the administrator of will do nothing. Donating To donate you must be a member. Once you are, just type in the amount you wish to donate! Every member can donate, but at the moment nothing can be done with the MC. If your society plans to use the money, however, it's no reason to not collect right now! Making an obligation to even add only 100 MC a day can quickly add up, especially if other members pitch in. Society Boards The society board is very much like a miniature forum. Every member can post and view it - but only members. Simply go to the society board and type in what you'd like to say, click 'Post Message' and your message will be up. You can go back to view it, and see what others have said before and after. The post at the top is the newest message. Good luck with your societies!
