Personalize your Profile and Signature Part of the fun on Misticpets is being able to personalise a lot of things around the site. For instance, you may want to add a little bit about yourself and your goals on the site into your profile, for visitors to your page to read. You can create a whole personality for each of your pets, adding pictures, verses well…almost anything you like. Signature - How about your own siggy (signature) that will be featured on every post you make on the forum ? Good eh ? So you’re not artistic and can’t draw but I will show you where to find the code for making pictures show up and there are lots and lots of people who will help you out with artwork. I would suggest you go to this page and bookmark it. To do this, go right to the bottom of the page and look for the red cross. Click the word “Bookmark” which will open a popup where you can give this item a name you’ll remember, it will then be placed for your convenience in the Site Favorites box on the right hand side of any page you go to. You will need to have someplace on the web that can store all your artwork but there are lots of free sites around like Image Shack and Photobucket. Do a search for “free picture hosting” and you can take your pick and create an account. Once you have that done then any picture you have stored on your pc can be transferred to your account, then you use the URL of the picture in that account and place it in the Misticpets code. If anybody makes artwork for you, ask them if you can use your own web hosting account and then if the player leaves it won’t affect your siggies or profiles. So, have you decided what you are going to say? Open a Word document or similar and write down what you think you’d like to say. This way you can change it round or even cut out sections completely if you decide you don’t like it. Add the code for your pictures, like it says on that bookmarked article, and then save it all before going any further. You will have worked hard on this and don’t want to lose it all now with a silly slip. Now you want to be in User Preferences, on the left hand side of any page. Change Profile Description - This is where you copy/paste the code you wrote for your own profile, into the box and click Edit Profile underneath. Fingers crossed it all works. Click on your name in the User Status box at the right hand side and you should be able to see all your own handywork decorating your profile. You may need to play around with stuff for a while before you get it perfect but that’s all part of the fun I think. Any problems you just can’t seem to overcome, don’t be shy, ask in the Help forum. We’ll help as much as we can Edit Pets – this is where you click to change the profile of one or all of your pets. It takes you to a page that shows each pet individually and you want to click Edit Pet Profile to find the box for copy/pasting your code into. Forum Settings – to change your avatar and also to add a custom siggy, be it just words or some fancy personalised artwork. Remember to check sizings. That’s it !!
